John Tinniswood, the world’s oldest man and a British citizen, has passed away at the age of 112. He died on Monday at the care home where he resided in Southport, northwest England, according to Guinness World Records, which cited his family.
Born in Liverpool on August 26, 1912, Tinniswood earned the title of the world’s oldest man in April, following the death of 114-year-old Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez.
“His final day was filled with music and love,” his family shared in a statement, expressing gratitude to everyone who had cared for him throughout his life.
The world’s oldest living woman is currently Japan’s Tomiko Itooka, who is 116 years old.
